Duck in the Truck by Jez Alborough is an adorable book about animals being stuck and trying to help their fellow friend become unstuck. The animals a cute and friendly and try with all their might to help the duck. This story has a wonderful rhythm by which to read and it plays with words and rhyming which will get your littles listening and engaged. I remember playing with words with my children and helping them learn what rhyming is. They loved changing words in books and songs to fit what they were doing or to just be silly. We would laugh and have so much fun making up rhymes…

Read Aloud: Ten Flashing Fireflies
Ten Flashing fireflies by Philemon Sturges, is a wonderful book to read to your littles. It has soft nighttime illustrations that help bring the feeling of catching fireflies to life. It brings back loving memories for me when I was little. I loved catching fireflies in a jar when I was little. I would put them on my nightstand and when I was sound asleep, my grandparents would take the jar and let them all go. The next night I would get to go out and catch them again. It was always so much fun and a summertime activity I looked forward to each year. Maybe your littles can listen…

Read Me A Story
The toddler posses a whole new read aloud. The infant sits and listens to the story. They squirm very little and they are just looking at the pages. You probably noticed that as your infant got closer to the age of one they started to engage with the book a little more. Maybe they are beginning to try and help turn the page or they are beginning to point at the pictures on the page. This calls for a whole new way of reading and presenting books.
